There's something about having to shovel snow off the deck to make a space for the barbecue that makes grilling more fun, especially when it's accompanied by a rosy sunset.

A big black cloud passed over Boston just before sunset.  It looked straight out of an evil horror movie.

The Boston subway (MBTA, or 'T' for short) is experimenting with what they're calling vandalism and graffiti-proof seats.  They've outfitted two trains with the new seats, one on the Orange line and one on the Red Line.  A few weeks ago I got to ride on the Red line train with the new seats, but I didn't have my camera.  I'm sure it was unrelated to the seats, but when we pulled into the Kendall Square station they couldn't open the doors.  Each car is equipped with one manual emergency exit, which opens one-half of the double door.  Fortunately, Kendall is where I get off, so I didn't have to wait around to see how they resolved the problem.  I got to ride the train with the new seats again today.  No problems with the doors this time.

The clouds were interesting today.  At one point I looked outside and the lower cumulus clouds were heading west while the higher altocumulus clouds were heading east.  Sunset was also pretty nice.
